August 2, 2008--the Bumbo

When Avery was three months old, we broke out the Bumbo. After much convincing, Addison actually let Avery sit in it (Addison actually still fits in the Bumbo, as long as her legs stick straight out). Avery seemed to enjoy the new perspective of sitting up!

August 1, 2008--Playing at home

When we were in Kennett during July, we bought Addison a 24 piece Sesame Street puzzle. After one or two tries, she could put it together perfectly all by herself! We then bought her more, since she enjoyed them so much. On the first day of August, which I spent at home with the girls, I captured Addison putting together the "school" puzzle, another Sesame Street favorite. I thought it was fitting that she was wearing her Elmo shirt at the time.

And then later, when she was supposed to be taking a nap, I walked into her bedroom to find this:

Up until this point, Addison had been known to go through her drawers of clothes and "rearrange" things or pull individual items out, but this was the first time she had emptied every single drawer plus the laundry basket into one big pile on the floor. I think I was trying to keep from laughing, but I made Addison sit in time-out on her bed while I refolded and put everything away with stern warnings to not do this again. (She has, of course, done it many times since then...)

July 26, 2008--Brooklyn's first birthday party

Two days after her first birthday, we helped Brooklyn celebrate her first birthday. Addison even tried helping her with the cake!

July 20, 2008--All filled out

It didn't take long for Avery to lose that scrawny baby look and fill out. By mid-July, she was all baby rolls!

July 15, 2008--Crazy hair and all

One evening, both girls were having fun and laughing together on Addie's bed. Of course by the time I got the camera out, everyone had stopped laughing, but I got some funny pictures.
