September 20, 2008--Botanical Gardens

One Saturday when I had to work, Aaron and the girls visited the Botanical Gardens with his family. Addison really liked the sculptures in the garden at the time.

Brooklyn and Addie

Since New Year's Eve 2006, I have been enthralled with the onions. I cannot get enough pictures of them.

September 18, 2008--SLSO in the Park

Every fall, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra performs a free concert in Forest Park. Aaron and I went a few years ago while we were waiting for Addison to make her appearance, but this was the first time we took the girls.

Art Hill, with everyone assembled for the concert.

Mama and Avery

Watching the performance and listening for the "trumpets and violins".

September 11, 2008--Exersaucer

In September, Avery was about at the right age to start playing in the exersaucer. Aaron's sister loaned this one to us. Avery seems to enjoy it!

September 9, 2008--First day of school

School for us means Mother's Day Out at our church, a program the girls attend two days a week during the school year. I think Addison was really looking forward to playing with other kids her age after being home with me for most of the summer. Addison is in the two year old class this year and Avery is in the baby nursery.

While she played in the bouncer, Avery talked to the bright lights and twirling fish:

Labor Day weekend 2008--Meeting Baby Kivrin

When we visited KC for Labor Day weekend, we drove to Topeka to meet Dan and Lissa's newborn daughter, Kivrin, who was born the weekend before. Avery at almost four months old looked like a giant next to Kivrin!

August 19, 2008--Holding hands

Addison really likes to hold Avery's hand. Here she was showing me how she could hold her sister's hand. When they are in Aaron's truck and their carseats are right next to each other, Addison always like to reach over and hold Avery's hand for the ride.

August 15, 2008--MO Botanical Garden

When Papa and GrandMary were in town, we visited the Botanical Garden. I remember going there with my parents when we visited St. Louis when I was in kindergarten, so it was fun making the trip with them again.

August 8, 2008--First trip to the zoo

We finally got the chance to go to the zoo on a gorgeous day in August. Addison had a great time seeing all the animals (we actually brought along her Noah's Ark book so that she could match up familiar images to real life animals).

Avery slept most of the morning we were at the zoo, but woke up in time to see the baby giraffe.

August 6, 2008--Pushing up and sitting up (with help)

Avery doesn't really like to be on her stomach. So getting her to work on building her upper body strength has a been a challenge. Here Avery is on her stomach before screaming crying (for a few seconds at least).
Soon after we gave up being on our stomach, we moved to the Bumbo and then the couch. She looks much happier.
